Hello Schmoedown fans, Tim here with the team matchup of the week!

We already have one KOrruption team-up – Mike Kalinowski and Chance Ellison with manager Ken Napzok from KOrruption – and we are about to see a second team-up from that vengeful faction. Led by Co-Manager Grace Hancock, it is Stacy Howard and her mystery partner!

How will this team do in their debut against a returning Robert and Vanessa from Arizona? We will find out as the returning Late to the Party faces Crimson Fury!

It has been a year and a half since we’ve seen this special team compete in the Schmoedown, but they have been putting up reaction videos to matches consistently since Season Four. For Robert Montano and Vanessa Fitzsimmons of Late to the Party, these two ambassadors of the Schmoedown are looking forward to their return to the Teams Division, and hoping for opportunities to return to greatness.

For those who don’t remember, they were the first fans from the Schmoedown Community to be invited to compete in the league in 2017. The team did good, with their well-known accomplishment of making an upset over Critically Acclaimed and ripping up many brackets. But we have not seen them compete in this division since their loss to Wolves of Steel at the 2017 Teams Tournament.

This they are back but will they put in the same performance despite the passage of time? Their keys to victory are to rediscover their strengths (the categories they are good in and capitalizing on them) and to have a strong mental endurance to whatever KOrruption reveals with Stacy and her mystery partner. Regardless of who (or what) her partner is, Robert and Vanessa need to focus on their game and get any ring rust off before match day.

As for Stacy Howard, while her match against Jeannine did not go as planned, she is excited to make her return to the Schmoedown Teams Division after the dissolution of her team up with Brianne Chandler as 6 Degrees. With her new family in KOrruption, Stacy is fully determined to see Kalinowski’s crusade be fulfilled with their faction having all of the championship belts.

As the team-up of Kalinowski and Ellison is in contention for a team title shot with the possibility of facing Founding Fathers again at Collision, she and her co-manager Grace are looking to get a second team from KOrruption into contention in this crowded division. And it looks very interesting with a mysterious pickup they have obtained.

As of now, we do not know who her partner is. However, we do think it could be someone surprising as we have seen the reaction of Chance when Stacy told him her new partner in secret. That doesn’t mean it will be a confident win for her and her new team. For them to succeed over Late to the Party, Stacy needs to pull her own weight as well. She cannot let her mystery partner carry this team by themselves. Obviously, it will have to come from going back to the drawing board and retraining on the movies she struggles in.

We have said numerous times that Stacy is an under-rated competitor, but in her recent matches we have not seen those moments where she breaks out. If she rebuilds her movie knowledge for this match, she will be able to use this as her rebounding point as a new contender in for the league.

Between the two teams, there is no favorite to determine because we have no idea who Stacy’s partner is. This matchup could go either way, but this is an important one for KOrruption to cement their presence in the Schmoedown by adding another team in the Teams Division.

Will the original fan team-up overcome what KOrruption will put out? We’ll find out in this latest team match in the Movie Trivia Schmoedown!

  1. Obviously we’ve “got” ourselves, however there is no way we would ever count out Stacy no matter who her partner is. We’re ready for a hell of a fight, and are hoping to truly bring The Party back to the Schmoedown.
    Great article, Mr. Sim.

  2. Anyone else think Stacy’s partner could be Tim the Tank? Just feels weird for them to challenge LTTP for any other reason.

Unless her partner is on the top tier, I have LTTP winning. Very underrated team. I was one of the very few people that actually thought they would beat Critically Acclaimed back in the day, based on their performance against Action… But that is neither here nor there.
