It’s time for the Movie Trivia Schmoedown!

On today’s singles match, a bitter rivalry is re-ignited, as “Sassy” Stacy Howard takes on her former stablemate Jeannine the Machine. Stacy has been a firebrand in the league for some time, and recently turned to the dark side when she joined Mike Kalinowski and Ken Napzok in the Korruption faction.

Meanwhile, Jeannine has proven a formidable player, as she fought hard at the New York live season premiere against Korruption’s Chance Ellison. She’s ready for a win, and she and manager Jay Washington are out for blood.

What will happen as Stacy & Jeannine square off? Find out in this three-round movie trivia battle.

  1. SPOILERS

After her showing in the Free-4-All as well as this game, I can’t really see any way back for Stacy in singles. Whether any given set of questions are easier or harder to answer than others is always going to be a tricky subject, but at least from my perspective, someone in Stacy’s position in the rankings should have done better with what she was given today. While it breaks my heart, I think she’s shown pretty unequivocally that she – at the moment – doesn’t have the breadth of knowledge to be a real contender in singles. Now, if Korruption manages to find a partner for her who can compensate for her weaknesses, she could most definitely still be a force in the Schmoedown. And to be perfectly clear, nothing would make me happier as a fan. Stacy Howard is an absolute juggernaut in terms of personality and character work, and the whole of the Schmoedown is better for having her. But losses like this one are just hard to watch, and not even fun for those of us who were rooting for her opponent.

Speaking of; that was a really solid performance from The Machine. We’ve seen time and time again that spinning your strengths doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re going to sweep round 2, so that was really impressive by Jeannine. Given her performances in New York as well as the Free-4-All, I think she might have the makings of a champion. If not this season, then definitely down the line. And – even more so than Stacy – I think she might already turn out be a genuine threat in teams, given the right partner.
